About Our Shop

Athens Bicycle staff

Athens Bicycle is a locally owned and operated bike shop with a reputation for providing friendly, personalized customer service. With more than 50 combined years of bicycling experience in the region, owners Peter Kotses and Meredith Erlewine and their warm, welcoming staff have a wealth of knowledge about the area’s many roads, bike paths and off-road trails.

Athens Bicycle was founded in 1998 with the goals of fostering a cycling community in our hometown. We believe that bicycling and community go hand in hand, and that a great bike shop is an important part of a great community. Experiencing the sights and sounds around you from the seat of a bike connects you to people and places.

We enjoy getting to know our customers, their riding styles and their needs. Taking the time to get to know you helps us make recommendations that help you get the most enjoyment out of your bike.

With the most experienced people and the largest selection of bikes in the region, Athens Bicycle has the knowledge and products to meet your needs. Southeast Ohio is a beautiful area to explore by bicycle, both on and off-road, and Athens Bicycle can help you do it.
