Race to the Hills
Mountain Bike Race at Lake
Hope State Park
Sunday, August 7, 2005
The Ohio Mountain
Bike Championship Series heads to Zaleski, Ohio, for OMBC points series
race #5, sponsored by Athens Bicycle, Athens Bicycle Club, OMBC, Ohio
State Parks and Pepsi. Come duke it out on sweet Southeastern Ohio
singletrack! This year’s race will feature a 15-mile loop lovingly
hand built by ABC members. There also will be a kids mountain bike
safety clinic and kids race.
New for this year is a non-competitive fun ride for anyone who would
like to give mountain biking a try. As part of OMBC’s “Get
Fit Naturally at Ohio State Parks” program, ABC will host the
guided ride, featuring sections of the race course.
Make a weekend out of it and camp at beautiful Lake Hope State Park.
The park has reserved some camping spots right near the start/finish
area. For reservations, call (740) 596-5253 and either select option
2 or stay on the line to speak directly to an operator at Lake Hope
(vs. the statewide Ohio State Parks reservation center), Be sure to
mention you’d like to camp near the race activities.
