It’s
Time for the Gravel Rouser Classic
March 16-19, 2006
Athens, Ohio
Just in time
for spring … an Appalachian thrill ride.
Thursday: Sundown Time Trial
5 p.m., Strouds Run Beach
New trail! Off-camber action and rocks, sure to excite. Race 1.5
miles of singletrack.
Friday: Grab & Git City Scramble
5 p.m., Athens Bicycle
Take a beatin’ from Athens brick to find five checkpoints within
the city limits, then git yer ass to the finish cuz it’s a
party! And don’t forget to dress to impress – it’s
St. Patty’s Day. This event has almost as much to do with luck
as it has to do with cycling prowess. Basically, it’s a crapshoot,
so forget the performance anxiety and come join the fun!
Saturday: Gravel Rouser
10 a.m., 145 Central Ave.
Group ride past exploded house trailers and violent pets to race
a fine piece of trail at Lake Hope State Park, followed by a group
ride home. 40 miles round trip plus 10-mile singletrack race.
Sunday: Coolville Ridge Cooldown
10 a.m., 14555 Coolville Ridge
Three-lap circuit race, about 5 miles each lap. Includes dirt climb,
smooth fast downhill and covered bridge with all the obscenities.
General Information - There will
be a marked course and maps provided for Saturday's
event.
We will provide food and beverages after Friday's event and
during Saturday's event.

We will be collecting donations. Please contribute as you see fit
(suggested $10 if you participate for one or two days, $20 if you
participate for three to four days).

feel like riding, come on out and help make the
magic happen.
