3rd Annual Gravel Rouser Classic Comes to an End
Alas
another wonderful Gravel Rouser has come and gone
and a good time was had by
all. As weekend temps soared into the balmy 40s things
heated up even more on our local trails and back
gravel roads. Overall numbers for
the whole weekend increased and the word about our
little cycling utopia is slowly spreading. If you
came out and participated, thanks for helping
make the Rouser a success. If you were unable to
make it this year we suggest that you don’t check out the pictures
from the weekend … you’ll
just get sad. Just plan to attend next year!
Athens,
Ohio, played host to racers from all over Ohio,
West Virginia, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Virginia
and beyond for the third running of the
Gravel Rouser Classic. Sponsors Athens Bicycle,
Trek Bicycles, Endless Bike Co., and O'Betty's Red Hot! Dogs and Sausages
welcomed riders for four days of fun rides and races.
Just four individuals managed to complete all four events, making them the Gravel Rouser Elite:
- Tony Bowie, Reedsville, Ohio
- Corey Chambers, Athens, Ohio
- Doug Tully, Athens, Ohio
- Craig Watson, Athens, Ohio
Congratulations to these tough guys for wearing their legs out even more than everyone else.
