Athens Bicycle to Host Pelotonia Training Rides

Athens Bicycle is proud to announce that it will partner with Pelotonia to help make the annual cancer-research fundraiser as successful as possible. In addition to providing mechanical support to riders during Pelotonia, Athens Bicycle will host training rides in advance of the event.

Representatives of Athens Bicycle and Pelotonia's cycling team will lead the training rides, which will be approximately 40 miles and will feature the beautiful rolling hills of Southeastern Ohio. In fact, the routes will intentionally feature some hill-climbing, to acquaint riders with the types of hills they'll encounter during the Pelotonia ride. We'll ride at a friendly pace and ensure no one gets left behind. There will be no charge for the rides, which are open to the public. Helmets are required.

If you're registered for Pelotonia, these rides are a great way to get in shape. If you’re not involved with Pelotonia, come out and learn more about the event or just enjoy the group ride and meet some new people (the rides are open to anyone).

Pelotonia is a grass roots bike tour with one goal: to end cancer. All rider-raised donations go toward cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute. There are several route options, one of which brings riders from Columbus to Athens and back. Thousands of riders will participate in Pelotonia Aug. 20-22. To learn more about Pelotonia, click here.
