Meet the 2008 Athens Bicycle Mountain Bike Team

Athens Bicycle has finalized its 2008 mountain bike team roster. Local beverage distributor Kerr Distributing is the team's co-sponsor. Other local sponsors are Global Cooling, the Cats Den, and Thyme and Again Gardening.

Trek Bicycle Corporation also is providing sponsorship.

The team will participate in races in Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, Pennsylvania and other nearby states. Team goals are to support grassroots mountain bike racing, to build camaraderie, to encourage people to challenge themselves, and to contribute to bicycle advocacy efforts.

In addition to racing in 2008, team members will volunteer at local bike advocacy events including the OU-COM Bike Rodeo, National Trails Day events, and trail maintenance at local parks.
