Under gray skies and through a misty spray, 18 costumed riders made their way across an off-road course at last night's Sasquatch Time Trial. It's a heck of a lot of fun to watch Angus Young, Ronald McDonald, Minnie Pearl and a Rubik's Cube do battle on two wheels.

Race organizer Joseph von Blowseph placed first among the men (or was it the women?), amidst lots of whispers of cheating. Although he continues to claim that he cheated, race officials are certain he covered every inch of the custom-built course. Fresh out of the car from Georgia, homegirl Kelly Shaw dominated the women's race, proudly wearing her Mother Earth News press pass.

Thanks to Marco and Christina Deshaies for hosting yet another fall cycling extravaganza. Thanks also to Cannondale for providing a prize table of toasty winter wear, and thanks to all the people who brought such delicious potluck dishes!
