Long Haul Trucker

Update 9/26/06

Time in saddle as of 9/26: 256 hours, 6 minutes
Miles ridden as of 9/26: 3,622 miles

Tonight while I was on a ride at Sells Park I missed a call from Curtie. I knew I should have brought my phone! But on the kitchen counter it sat. Thank heavens for voicemail, right?

So, Ryan has made it to the state of Washington! He said he has changed his route and is no longer on the TransAmerica route: "I did not want to go through all the towns it was going to take me through in Oregon because I've been through them all before. So I've switched, and I'm now following the Lewis & Clark route to the ocean."

He said he'll be bouncing back and forth between Washington and Oregon, along the Columbia River, until he reaches Portland.

He didn't say when he expected to reach Portland, but he did say that for lunch today he had something called a Colossal Burger, which was a pound of ground beef mixed with "special seasongs." Ryan said it was bigger than his hand and the people "were completely floored that I ate it all."
