Curtie had planned on getting through Missouri in three days, but he had a flat and got rained on pretty bad. He said he's not lonely, just a little bored in the evenings. Lunchtime is the most fun of all: "Most entertaining has been lunch every day, because I’m riding through farm towns. I stop at dives, and every day I’ve gotten into a conversation with four or more farmers about the weather and what I’m doing. I met an 80-year-old pervert in Illinois, just after crossing the Ohio River." Today is Ryan's first official (intentional) rest day, spending it in Pittsburgh, Kansas, a small college town. Next state border he'll cross is Colorado.
