Perhaps you haven't been on a bike in years and want to start riding again. Or, you have been riding regularly but want to feel more confident riding in groups on the road, with traffic, or on technical terrain in the woods. Meredith has the experience and know-how to meet you where you are in the bicycling learning curve and help you get to where you want to go.

One-on-One Skills Coaching, Road or Mountain*
Less formal than a lesson. We will hop on the bikes and do a ride together. I'll observe your body position and riding style, providing feedback and helping you practice corrections when necessary. This is also a great time to ask any burning questions you have about bicycling in general.
Group Skills Clinics*
Schedule a half-day or full-day skills clinic for groups of 5 or more. Price is $30-$60 per person depending on group size and clinic duration.
*Rates are for local instruction (Athens area). Private lessons at additional locations are available for a slightly higher fee.
Meredith Erlewine has been hooked on bikes since 1991. In addition to being a writer/editor and a mom, she and her husband own Athens Bicycle. She is an experienced road cyclist and mountain biker, and has competed in mountain bike races at the expert level since 1999. She has stood atop the podium at West Virginia's Wild 100, 24 Hours of Big Bear and 24 Hours of Snowshoe, and is a past winner of the WVMBA Ultra Series. Meredith loves to help people discover what they are capable of doing with their minds, bodies and bicycles. She has been guiding mountain bike tours since 2002, is an IMBA-Certified Level 2 Skills Instructor, and has completed the League of American Bicyclists' Bicycling 123 training program, focused on teaching cyclists how to ride safely on streets and with traffic.
