Season Opener!

Sunday marked the beginning of the WVMBA Point Series, with 209 racers participating in the Big Bear Lake Bike Classic near Morgantown, W.V. Athens Bicycle staffer Corey Chambers and I were there, as were our team-mates Alex Okolish, Tim McGraw and Bobby Esdale. Big Bear always is a fun place to ride, and this year was no different -- nice big embedded rocks and the swoopy pines. The race was a little on the short side (only 16 miles for experts), so my pal Besty and I headed out for a bonus loop afterward (here we are after finishing up). Her hubby Gunnar and buddy Chris came along for extra miles as well. It was great to see everyone and to meet some new folks. The Challenge at Mountwood is the next stop on the WVMBA points schedule, and the Athens Bicycle Mountain Bike Team will be sending plenty of representatives. Will you be there?
