My longtime Athens friend Craig Dransfield of Chop Chop Gallery, his friend Ali of Able Projects, and Columbus College of Art & Design student OJ Hayes recently built some awesome bikes under contract for Red Bull. The energy drink company is using the bikes to promote its Red Bull Soapbox Race Series, which is a human-powered vehicle race series. Pictured above are the bikes they built: a DJ booth, a TIE fighter, a replica of The Beatles' Yellow Submarine and a stealth bomber. And you think your bike is heavy???!!

Monday Evenings, West State Street Ballfields
The Athens County Bike Polo Association is hosting bike polo every Thursday at 6 p.m. Meet at the big tree between the ballfields and the community gardens.
