I
like a challenge when one is presented. The mission:
attempt to ride a century on a homemade side-by-side
recumbent. The purpose: help my wounded friend Tom
Wolf maintain his streak of
riding at least one century
per month (his record currently stands at
49 months). Result: mission accomplished after 12 hours
on the Hockhocking Adena Bikeway. The epic ride included
two major mechanicals, one of which required a welding
torch
to rectify. The bottom
line
on
this ride: it was one of the hardest 100-milers I've
ever done. It was also a great chance to see a
bunch of people out using the bikeway on a nice spring
Saturday.
One user who saw us a few different times yelled "You
can't get enough!" (preaching to the choir).
