This
weekend Pete, Ellen Gerl and I headed over
to Davis, W.V., to enjoy some x-country skiing
at White Grass.
There was tons of snow, and we were
surprised by a few inches of fresh
powder when we awoke today. The place was
jam-packed with people who had been waiting
all season for snow like this
-- more than 400 happy skiers in the woods
yesterday. You'd never know it, though, due
to the sheer volume of trails combined with
the absolute quiet of the snowy woods. We
bumped into lots of mountain biking pals
over the weekend -- Steve Thaxton, Sue George
and Matt Wikswo on Saturday afternoon alone!
