I
just got back from Trek World in Madison, Wis. This
is the dealer show where Trek shows us the line for
next year. I saw a lot of people, including buddies
Frank Maguire and Jimbo Malta from Mt. Nittany Wheelworks
(above, with me), Gravel Rouser champ Brian Matter,
and superstars Greg LeMond, Travis Brown and Gary Fisher
(wearing a pantsuit). But more importantly (according
to Trek), I saw a lot of stuff: the new Trek Top Fuel
with a 69 platform, a full carbon Gary Fisher 29’er,
and Trek’s new Fuel EX design, which has the
rear pivot directly on the rear axle, providing better
suspension under hard breaking. On the road side, the
new Madone is completely redesigned, including a full
carbon fork. There will be some fun new toys to play
with in 2008, I guarantee it!
