Goodbye, Mike Brown

It's a busy week for cyclists here in Athens. Many Athens Bicycle team members and friends returned home on Monday from a trip to the Shenandoah Mountain 100 in Virginia -- I'll have pictures online soon. Last night we bid farewell to Mike Brown, who is moving to Denver this week for a new job. We'll miss him at the shop, around town and on the trails. This weekend it's a big old wedding: Joey and Atira are getting hitched.

Action at the shop this week includes deals on 2006 bikes (new models are coming in), accordion music and plenty of jabber-jawing. Stop on in.

Update 9/6: Click here to find out just how much food Curtie has been eating on the road.

Just like Lewis said to Clark on their cross-country trip: "You can do it, buddy!" Our friend Ryan Curtiss is bicycling across the country, hauling his gear in a B.O.B. trailer. He left Norfolk, Va., on Aug. 8.
