Athens Dirt Bags

The Athens Bicycle crew traveled to the Huntington, W.V., area over the weekend for three days of riding, racing and relaxing. It started with a time trial Friday night and continued yesterday with an all-day ride/race on the Kanawha Trace and Adahi Trail. The grand finale was the WVMBA point series final today. This multi-faceted event was called the Dirt Bag Cup, and above are some of the kooks who participated in all three stages. Whew! A lot went down over the past few days. Update 10/1: I spoke with Ryan on Friday evening, he was 80 miles from Portland and expected to arrive there yesterday. I have photos from him to upload. Stay tuned. Click here for previous updates.

Just like Lewis said to Clark on their cross-country trip: "You can do it, buddy!" Our friend Ryan Curtiss is bicycling across the country, hauling his gear in a B.O.B. trailer. He left Norfolk, Va., on Aug. 8.
