Hmm,
yes, summertime
is bike polo time for many local socialites
and cyclists. You'll find Athens' most
refined élite sipping champagne, snacking
on hors d'oeuvres and sticking it to
one another down at the West State Street
ballfields most Friday nights. Although
last night was too wet to play, recent
weeks have witnessed some excellent matches.
In addition to offering a fun way to
improve your bike handling and meet new
pals, bike polo offers endless opportunities
for creating nicknames. Come on down
to the fields most Fridays around 7 p.m.
to watch the action, jump in for a match
and find out why we call Aaron Burk "The
Tornado."
